The Trump Organization held on to the contract to run a golf course in the Bronx, New York after a court ruled New York City wrongly nullified the agreement because of Donald Trump’s encouragement of the domestic terrorist attack on Congress on January 6th, Reuters reports.
The office of previous mayor Bill DeBlasio had notified the Trump Org that it was canceling the contract for the company to run Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point, a management contract that was signed in 2015. DeBlasio said Trump’s involvement in the attempt to subvert the Constitution harmed the course’s ability to host “first-class professional championship golf tournaments.”
Justice Debra James of the New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan determined that the contract with the city did not have a provision requiring the company to host professional golf tournaments at the course, so the prime reason cited for the cancelation was invalid.
