Republican Hampton County, Virginia Electoral Board Chair David Dietrich is refusing to step down from his post after a February 2021 racist tirade in which he called Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Retired General Russell Honore “stinking [n-words]” surfaced this week, WAVY reports.
“This situation with the United States military is getting more disgusting and dangerous by the day. First. we have a new Secretary of Defense, retired 4-star general Lloyd Austin, Standing dawn the military to ferret out ‘white nationalists.’ In Other words, he Wants to remove conservative, freedom-loving Americans from the And we have the appointment Of a retired 3-Star general, Russel Honere, by Nancy Pelosi, to review the ‘security of Capital [sic] Hill. To listen to this guy, you would think he was a Black Nationalist. These so-called ‘leaders’ are so vile and racist, there’s no way to describe them other than in terms their Own people understand, They are nothing more than dirty. Stinking [n-words]” Dietrich wrote in a Facebook post on February 17, 2021.
The Hampton County GOP Chair has called on a judge responsible for managing board appointments to remove Dietrich. “He’s responsible for what he wrote; I am responsible for who I recommend to the court. I can’t speak for what he thinks or what he believes but I can rectify the wrong that I made in having him appointed there,” Chairman Philip Siff told WAVY on Friday.
