The trial of one Dem campaign lawyer indicted for allegedly lying to the FBI about some shit that we’ve basically given up on trying to understand what was the actual crime after five plus years of insanely convoluted investigation and counter-investigations into the Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia all comes down to one single verdict that could be delivered as early as Tuesday, the New York Times reports. The case against Dem cybersecurity lawyer Michael Sussman is the first and only trial and would be the second conviction if the jury finds him guilty in the now three year-long special counsel John Durham investigation into the FBI’s investigation of the 2016 election. FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, who fucked up and falsified some paperwork, pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement in 2020 and was sentenced to probation.
Should Sussman be acquitted the outcome will still be considered some kind of metaphorical victory for the fanboys who feel like Hillary colluded with Russia in the 2016 election. This follows the metaphorical victories such as all the times she and Obama were “caught” spying on Trump, most recently in March 2022, when some text messages between the “lovers” Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were exposed, when Jim Comey was fired, when the FISA something who fucking knows that all the MAGA kids pretended they understood what the hell was going on, same with the “302s” that “exonerated” Mike Flynn, and a whole bunch of other “wins” over the Deep State.
Just don’t mention the five different “IG reports” that didn’t tell them anything remotely close to what they wanted to hear, or the fact that Durham failed to deliver a “bombshell” report before the 2020 election to help Trump win because reasons. They don’t like to talk about those.
