Former Democrat turned hardcore MAGA Georgia state lawmaker Vernon Jones, endorsed by Trump in the Republican primary for the state’s 10th District US House seat, has been defeated in the runoff by rival Mike Collins, Cook Political Report’s Dave Wasserman projects. Separately, Trump’s guy Jake Evans in the 6th went down to other white guy Rich McCormick, NBC projects.
The Orange Allah’s GOP primary endorsement record for 2022 now stands at 13 losses including Jones, Evans, Idaho Lt Governor Janice McGeachin, MAGA bro North Carolina Congressman Madison Cawthorn, Nebraska sex machine Charles Herbster, former Georgia Senator David Perdue, MAGA Georgia Congressman Jody Hice (Georgia Secretary of State GOP primary), John Gordon (Georgia AG GOP primary), and Patrick Witt (Georgia Insurance Commissioner) who lost outright. Tennessee US House Candidate Morgan Ortagus and Michigan state House candidate Jon Rocha were disqualified, Mo Brooks he undorsed for the Alabama GOP Senate primary in March, and Sean Parnell dropped out of the Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary in November 2021. One endorsee who dropped out of a Michigan US House race we’ll skip because the guy only quit after he got screwed by redistricting that would’ve pitted him against another Trump-backed candidate. We may need to revisit this list overall however. Feels like there might be more losses slipping through the cracks.
