Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end and later the team’s longtime broadcast analyst Bob Trumpy died Sunday at the age of 80, the AP reports on the tragic passing of a beloved local figure.

“On November 1, 2025, at 11:20 am, the Alaska State Troopers received a report that three men riding one snowmachine, and two 4-wheelers north of Kotzebue went through the ice near Lockhart Point. One of the men made it safely to shore, one of the men was rescued by searchers and medical personnel and is now being transported to a local area health clinic, and the third man is missing. All three men are from Kotzebue. Prior to AST being notified, multiple local EMT personnel and local community members were already on scene, rendering aide and searching for the third man. The Northwest Arctic Borough Search and Rescue and Kotzebue Fire Department are responding,” said the Alaska State Troopers C Detachment in a statement on Sunday.

In an update they later wrote that one of the men, 46 year-old Elmer Brown, had died after being rescued from however the hell they found him. Kotzebue is north of the Arctic Circle, the sun will rise at 10:02 AM local time and stay up until 5:04 PM, giving the locals seven hours to do something to try to find the other guy. What that is was not explained. Guess they have to go through the motions and say they’re looking for him by some means other than driving snowmobiles on the goddamned sea ice which he fell through. Maybe it’s just sending drones up to do laps and see if his hat might be floating in another hole in the ice. Then they can take a closer look to confirm it’s a hat.

That could be a promising lead on whether the man’s body might be somewhere under the ice near where the hat was spotted. It would be something like a form of closure for his family and friends.

Either left unsaid in Cruz-Angeles’s TV hit or maybe Politiko just left out of the article is that Duterte is currently in a jail cell at the Hague, awaiting trial at the International Criminal Court for the indiscriminate brutality that left anywhere between 4,000 and upwards of 20,000 dead between 2016 and 2022. Plus another few dozen killed extrajudicially while Hot Rod was mayor of Davao, some of whom he allegedly executed personally while cops had them cuffed to chairs. The interview and the Politiko write-up thus wasted an opportunity to speculate on if the footsteps were made by the departed souls of Rod’s victims, stalking him from beyond.

Convicted felon President Trump’s approval rating stands at 37 percent among respondents to Monday’s CNN/SSRS national survey, just a point higher than his 36 percent at the same point in early November 2017. Disapproval however is actually the highest it’s ever been for him from the pollster at 63 percent, even higher than the 61 they found after the friggin Capitol riot.

The “good” news for MAGA is that Dems are up 5 in the generic congressional ballot at 47 to 42 percent, below the 11 percent edge from that 2017 survey. Whatever relief that might bring for MAGA might be kind of tempered as Dems are up 12 percent among those “extremely or very motivated to turn out next year,” though CNN does not mention a point of comparison with 2017.
