Air Force Major General Christopher Finerty, the branch’s chief liaison to Capitol Hill who had something of a reputation of a sex machine until he was removed from the job for about five too many liaisons, apparently liaised with Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, ProPublica has determined.

The investigative reporting outfit’s sources also believe that Ernst liaised with the Finnerty’s Naval counterpart back in 2019. In case you weren’t following “liaising” is euphemism for “fucking” here.

Anyway the thing with Finerty isn’t terribly scandalous given that both he and Ernst are single and, though ProPublica identifies the officer as a “lobbyist,” and quotes from a former officer who worked for Finerty who said the perception in the office was that the liaising “absolutely gave the Air Force undue influence,” which sounds like bullshit. What corrupt dimension could be found to such a relationship? “Oh Finnerty liaised Ernst all night long and talked her into an NDAA amendment putting more money towards books and computers for kids at Air Force base schools!”

But yeah, obviously the problem was with Finerty’s reputation and probably conduct unbecoming and what not. Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday filed a complaint with the District of Columbia Bar Association over Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove’s pretty fucking blatantly corrupt conduct in trying to dismiss the case versus dipshit New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Responding to Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s warning that the province will stop transmitting electricity across the border, North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis on Tuesday told the Independent’s Eric Garcia, that if Ford means he’s “cutting off transmission to the United States, you better figure out what to do with those surplus, electrons are drawing down your base load.”

Tillis did not warn that the electrons could then escape into Canadian waterways and mutate regular eels into electric eels but he may as well have given the level of understanding he demonstrated.

In fact, per the Post, Canadian law explicitly says American banks can open retail branches if they want to. They don’t but they’re happy to do business in the investment, commercial, and personal wealth sectors, operations for which Chase alone employs over 600 Canadians working out of offices in every major city.

Altogether American banks control around $113 billion in Canadian assets, something that surely could be reduced to $0 with a little elbow grease if Trump really wants it that way.

During a Tuesday morning GOP caucus meeting on Capitol Hill, the Wall Street Journal’s Olivia Beavers received a tip that NRCC chair Congressman Richard Hudson “just very dramatically told members to put down their phones and listen, per source in room,” after which Hudson said unequivocally that House Republicans need to cease all town halls amid the series of increasingly embarrassing and tense in-person confrontations with voters that began just about two weeks ago.
