The National Assembly voted to overturn the declaration, but there’s a constitution question of whether it’s valid without the review of the presidential cabinet. The soldiers supposedly left the Assembly’s building but then other soldiers started smashing windows to get in… for what purpose we have no idea. Probably nothing good. All of this was just in the last half hour or so.

Conservative South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Tuesday declared an “emergency martial law,” and accused the country’s opposition Democratic Party of sympathizing with North Korea and undermining the rule of law in the nation amid a drive the impeach the fucker, the AP reports.

Yoon vowed to “eradicate pro-North Korean forces and protect the constitutional democratic order,” and to “rebuild and protect the free Republic of Korea, which is falling into the depths of national ruin… I will eliminate anti-state forces as quickly as possible and normalize the country,” while asking citizens to stand with him and tolerate “some inconveniences,” during martial law. Oh fuck.

The leader of Yoon’s own conservative party, Han Dong-hoon, called the decision “wrong” and vowed to “stop it with the people.” Oh extra fuck. Opposition leader Lee Jae-myung, who narrowly lost to Yoon in the 2022 election, called Yoon’s announcement “illegal and unconstitutional.”

From a press release by the office of Florida 9th Circuit State’s Attorney Andrew Bain: “On Monday, Orange County Circuit Court Judge Michael Kraynick sentenced Sarah Boone, 47, to life in the Florida Department of Corrections for murdering her boyfriend, Jorge Torres. On Oct 25, a jury found Boone guilty of Second Degree Murder after she zipped her boyfriend inside a suitcase and left him to suffocate and die on Feb 23, 2020. Cellphone videos found on Boone’s phone were presented as evidence during the trial. Boone recorded herself taunting Torres as he frantically pleaded to be released from the suitcase. She did not let the victim out and instead went upstairs to sleep.”

The October press release after Boone’s conviction included more details about how the registered Republican and Torres, 42, had “spent the evening together at their home in the 4700 block of Frantz Lane in Winter Park. They consumed alcohol and then according to the Defendant, they played a game of hide-and-seek. According to the Defendant, Torres voluntarily climbed inside a suitcase as part of the game. Boone then zipped the suitcase closed and recorded herself taunting the victim as he asked to be let out of the suitcase. She did not and instead went upstairs to sleep.”

Republican former Virginia Congressman Scott Taylor, who was caught cheating in his 2018 reelection bid before being defeated by Dem Elaine Luria, and then tried to become a lobbyist for Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko’s regime, is now apparently a CNN contributor and a pretty whiny one at that. Taylor on Monday told anchor Abby Philip he’s “offended” by the fact that the New Yorker’s Jane Mayer used anonymous sources for her “hit piece” on rapey white nationalist Fox News host Pete Hegseth about his drunkenness, sexual indiscretions, and gross incompetence while helming two different astroturfed “veterans” organizations in the 2010s.

As flagged by Political Wire on Monday, the author of a 2015 email claiming that Hegseth had screamed “kill all Muslims” during one tour and then unzipped his pants and pissed on a sidewalk in front of other staffers at the Koch-backed Concerned Veterans of America, had told Mayer “If you print that, I will deny I wrote it.” When the writer was reminded that the email been sent from the same personal account he still uses, he said, “I don’t care. Sources tell Fox News that convicted felon President-Elect Trump last weekend told Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada should become the 51st state if the economy of the US’s northern neighbor could not survive the 25 percent tariff the fat fuck plans to impose next month.

“The one thing I would ask you to keep in mind as we make this very large request for new headquarters building is that the one we’re in just isn’t safe,” said KBI director Tony Mattivi, who leads a law enforcement agency employing peace officers who carry deadly weapons on the job and whose mission is to protect Kansans from violence perpetrated by criminals. Something’s not adding up here. The website looks like a decent amount of work was put into the production value. It was not just slapped together even if there’s maybe some (very subtle) signs of corner-cutting. Whoever put it together knew what they were doing and how to make it look pretty slick. There’s also the question of who the hell would hijack freaking Enron to be the brand fronting a crypto scam. Might as well be Washington Mutual, Bear Stearns, or Lehman Brothers.

There’s even a merch store that looks very real. On the other hand there are no names of anyone on the site, save for some very fake looking employees on the “Careers” page. The language across the site is extremely vague and anodyne. The banner on the Twitter page says “World’s Leading Company.” The “Repentant” part of the mission statement saying “Acknowledging and taking responsibility for past mistakes isn’t merely for show – it reflects our commitment to ethical practices moving forward. Our goal isn’t just to repair relationships through transparency, but to build a lasting foundation of trust and sustainable growth,” is both fucking funny and weird.

Anyway, remember that old “process crimes” chestnut from back during the Mueller investigation? It was what Trump fanboys said minions like Paul Manafort and Roger Stone were hit with because those were easier offenses to prosecute and leverage their cooperation with the larger probe into the fat fuck’s traitorous alliance with the Kremlin, as if they weren’t actual crimes. That’s pretty much what happened to Hunter, but the crimes were even more picayune and he tried to resolve them with a plea deal. And that the larger investigation into the “Biden Crime Family” was a fucking dead end and a waste of time, far more so than the Trump-Russia investigation ever was.

Finally, and most pertinently, Trump pardoned all of those fucking worms too – after having dangled the possibility of a pardon to get them to hold out on cooperating, which they definitely did. That just might be kind of a bigger deal than Biden simply reversing a pledge to not pardon Hunter.

So our official editorial stance is you are entitled to take issue with Joe pardoning Hunter and/or walking back on his pledge not to, so long as you also took issue with Trump pardoning his minions as a recompense for keeping quiet during the Mueller investigation – as well as Steve Bannon separately, since he literally ripped off Trump fans donating to build a stupid border wall. If however you find yourself outraged at the Bidens but also said Trump’s pardons were justified then you can go fuck yourself with a pine cone. You cannot and will not be taken seriously here.

Previously unseen reports and corroborating statements from witnesses to the New Yorker paint exactly the picture you already pretty much imagined about convicted felon President-Elect Trump’s Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth during his time running two Koch-backed political operations, with one report from staffers at Concerned Veterans of America detailing how Pete was so shitfaced at more than one fundraiser event that he needed to be physically carried out, had to be dragged off the stage at a Louisiana strip joint in 2015, and systemically pursued sex with female staff members of the organization by dividing them into “party girls” and “not party girls.”

Oh and Hegseth screamed “Kill All Muslims! Kill All Muslims!” in the early morning hours while in a bar during a work trip in Ohio. After Hegseth was canned in 2016, a staffer wrote in an email that the Fox News host had “a history of alcohol abuse” and “treated the organization funds like they were a personal expense account – for partying, drinking, and using CVA events as little more than opportunities to ‘hook up’ with women on the road.” The other, similarly astroturfed operation, Veterans For Freedom, was completely run into the ground by Hegseth, its coffers depleted to under a thousand dollars with $434,833 in debts and $75,000 in credit card bills in 2010.

And of course there’s more sexual harassment stuff in there, but this is about as much as we can summarize right now. At the end of the story there’s one other lie exposed however: MAGA lawyer Tim Parlatore told the New Yorker that, despite Hegseth having agreed to a confidential settlement with his rape accuser in 2020, the cops who investigated the 2017 incident dropped it because the woman had made a false accusation previously. Reporter Jane Mayer then followed up with the local DA’s office and, sur-fucking-prise, they responded promptly to say there was no evidence of that.

Convicted felon President-Elect Trump’s vicious German Shepherd spokeswoman and incoming White House Press Secretary Karoline “Blondi” Leavitt is all MAGA these days, but CNN reports that in the immediate aftermath of the January 6th, 2021 Capitol insurrection the then-Trump Reich comms staffer linked a video of a Capitol cop directing rioters away from where he knew Senator Mitt Romney to be, with the comment “A hero” and also retweeted another post by Tim Scott staffer Ken Farnaso who wrote “VP @Mike_Pence was a steady hand through the chaos that ensued at our Capitol yesterday. Love him or hate him, he kept the wheels of democracy moving and pushed forward to certify his own loss,” with a video of Pence calling it “a dark day” in the Capitol’s history.

Both posts were subsequently deleted from Leavitt’s Twitter profile however it’s not clear from the article exactly when this happened, specifically if it was in response to a request for comment from Leavitt. Obviously someone had the foresight to archive them before she could pretend it had never happened. It’s possible they were saved while Leavitt ran a failed campaign for New Hampshire’s 1st District in 2022, though our guess is it was more recent because they probably would’ve surfaced publicly during that bid by her primary opponent or by the incumbent Dem, Chris Pappas.

She herself did not provide a statement for the story, instead handing it off to similarly angry and unhinged Trump spokesanimal Steven Cheung, who said simply “Karoline was completely correct in saying there were irregularities with the 2020 election and any cases of fraud should be investigated in order to protect and preserve the sanctity of our Democracy. She will make a wonderful Press Secretary championing the policies and agenda of President Trump, and there is nobody better who can articulate that to the public,” without addressing the deleted Twitter posts at all.

President Joe Biden has pardoned his son Hunter as an early Christmas gift. “Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently,” said the president in a statement.

The pardon itself is pretty freaking sweeping, covering “those offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024, including but not limited to all offenses charged or prosecuted (including any that have resulted in convictions) by Special Counsel David C Weiss.”

It is a catch phrase the media is using to push the ‘only some will be pardoned’ narrative,” tweeted MAGA activist Suzzanne Monk and lol. Reporter Kyle Cheney later tweeted some notes he left out of his story, adding that “Some advocates for J6ers say they are against blanket pardons because it might accidentally help feds in the crowd,” which is so on brand for MAGA. “Dismissing cases pre-sentencing is the dream because pardons might entail accepting guilt,” Cheney continued and we agree that’s probably where you’re going to see the most action, because it’s something that can be done a little more quietly than one big mass amnesty. Simply ordering the courtroom prosecutors not to show up to hearings and trials, which would probably push them into resigning and the judges to toss the cases unilaterally would take care of the active ones. Then there’s the misdemeanants and non-violent felons like the QAnon Shaman and similar middle-ground cases he can probably pardon with minimum fuss.
