Sources on Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign tell CNN that they understood that ABC News would provide some form of airtime to the veep on the night of the September 10th debate whether or not convicted felon former President Trump grabs his balls and honors his agreement to face President Biden, though it’s not clear yet where ABC lands on this hypothetical Harris-only plan.

The most similar recent situation we have is actually both pretty recent and similar-ish: ABC canceled a GOP primary debate set for January 18th in New Hampshire after former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said she would only show up if Trump would. Donald of course fucked off, then Haley did, and ABC for obvious reasons did not want Ron DeSantis and two empty podiums.

But Kamala Harris is not Ron DeSantis and we would put it well north of 50-50 that they end up giving her the time one way or another. We’re wondering if Harris should – provided ABC would go along with it – pull some kind of stunt like offering the fat bastard’s spot to Libertarian nominee Chase Oliver. There’s not much to be gained by an empty podium if the format’s going to be exactly the same as the CNN debate where she’s going to have to answer tough questions without having Trump there as contrast (not trying to underestimate her, she could very well end up crushing it anyway, though). If that calculus says there are significantly more votes out there – ones that will never be sold on Kamala but can be flipped from Trump to Oliver – than she’d risk losing to Oliver then it maybe it’d be worth it to elevate and legitimize him for a nationally-watched debate.

On one hand, the reporter, Simon Levien, must’ve been bleary-eyed and exhausted when he filed at freaking 2:09 in the morning on a Saturday (another page says it was first up at 12:57 AM). His LinkedIn says he’s based in the New York City area and is a “Politics Fellow” who started at the Times June after graduating from Harvard in 2022. Meaning he’s technically not even a “reporter” yet and we get why he would be stuck with a shit assignment like this one at an ungodly hour.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin voided the plea agreements for  al Qaeda’s planner of the 9/11 attacks Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and two of his accomplices that would have sentenced the trio to life in prison, the New York Times reports.  On top of overriding the deal, Austin also relieved the lawyer overseeing the case, Brig. Gen. Susan K. Escallier, of her role overseeing the prosecution.

With Austin taking direct management of the case, Pentagon lawyers can continue to pursue the death penalty for the defendants.  “I have determined that, in light of the significance of the decision to enter into pre-trial agreements with the accused in the above-referenced case, responsibility for such a decision should rest with me as the superior convening authority under the Military Commissions Act of 2009,” Lloyd said in the announcement.  “Effective immediately, I hereby withdraw your authority in the above-referenced case to enter into a pre-trial agreement and reserve such authority to myself.”

“We studied COVID-19 vaccines and cardiovascular disease in nearly 46 million adults in England and found a similar or lower incidence of common cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes, following each vaccination than before or without vaccination,” one of the co-authors said in a statement. “This research further supports the large body of evidence on the effectiveness and safety of the COVID-19 vaccination programme, which has been shown to provide protection against severe COVID-19 and saved millions of lives worldwide.”

The judge overseeing Rudy Giuliani’s bankruptcy filing is no longer overseeing his bankruptcy filing:  U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane dismissed the case after accepting an agreement regarding the $350,000 in administrative fees Giuliani was required to pay the court to close the case, the Washington Post reports.

To pay the expenses, Giuliani will put $100,000 into an escrow account controlled by the creditors’ attorneys.  He’ll remit the balance upon the sale of one of his properties, either his Manhattan apartment or his Palm Beach condo.  His property will be liquidated to pay his creditors, including two Fulton County election workers to whom he owes $148 million dollars.

Just going by past performance it’s most likely Ellis as she’s the only one charged for the plot in both Georgia and Arizona to have reached a deal with prosecutors in the latter state. Fellow fake electors conspirator and flipper Kenny Chesebro was not among those also indicted in Arizona.

Funny how the Democrats can pull off a “coup” more successfully than the Republicans. A Grovetown, Georgia woman was arrested Tuesday after “simulating a sex act” with random cars in the parking lots of a PetSense, a Taco Bell, and a T-Mobile store, the Augusta Chronicle reports.

The unnamed 30 year-old woman, known to deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for her history of “irrational behavior,” was first approached in the PetSense lot at 10 AM on Tuesday after bystanders called about her screaming and car-fucking while waving around an empty plastic Starbucks cup. Deputies told her stop and warned they would arrest her if they got another call.

Two hours later they got that call. Witnesses at the Taco Bell location reported the car-fucker was back at it. Deputies arrived but she had already left. Then 911 got a call from the nearby T-Mobile about – yup – more screaming loud car-fucking. This time the Starbucks cup was filled with booze, which she poured on one of the cops and kicked him in the leg. The woman was booked on three counts of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and public drunkenness.
