Self-proclaimed paragon of professionalism and journalistic integrity John Solomon on Tuesday tweeted a link to an article his website JustTheNews.com printed. The article asserted that Vice President Kamala Harris “often” left her previous positions with a record of “scandal and failure.”

Missing however from both the tweet and the article itself was any sort of acknowledgement that such a summary description could be applied to Solomon’s own career given that, just for example, he’s come on the radar of federal law enforcement for foreign election interference and his former employer The Hill was forced to append lengthy corrections to his “articles,” which were classed as “opinion” pieces following a newsroom revolt. Then there’s that, almost certainly by his own personal standards of achievement, he failed at the most important task that was assigned to him.

The Committee anticipates completing the adjudicatory review promptly. An adjudicatory review is required when the Committee considers disciplinary actions, such as expulsion or censure.”

“The adjudicatory review will be conducted in accordance with Committee Supplementary Rules of Procedure 4 and 5, and Senator Menendez will be afforded the procedural rights he is due under those provisions. At the completion of the adjudicatory review, the Committee will move expeditiously to submit a written report to the Senate including specific findings and any recommendations for disciplinary action,” said the Senate Ethics Committee in a Monday statement.

Weird how “expeditiously” isn’t just literally copying and pasting the fucking indictments against him and then adding “A federal trial jury convicted Menendez on these counts.” Like on one hand we get it that they still want to play by the rules and give Menendez “due process.” On the other, he already got his “due process” in court and a rubber stamp on the indictments should suffice.
