Vice President Kamala Harris is now the presumptive Democratic nominee for president having accepted the mantle from retiring President Joe Biden.  Harris secured the majority of votes for the  National Convention according to a survey of delegates by the Associated Press reported by the Washington Post.  As of Monday, 2,214 delegates from at least three dozen states said they would vote for Harris to be the Party’s nominee; just 1,976 are needed.

It’ll be fun when convicted felon and adjudicated rapist Donald Trump, the Republican standard-bearer, tries to undermine assumed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’s credentials:  Harris has the literal receipts that Trump supported her efforts.

According to The Guardian, Donald Trump and the apple of his eye, daughter Ivanka Kushner, each made donations to Harris’s re-election campaign for California’s Attorney General’s office in 2011.  And it’s important that it was the re-election donation, an endorsement of Harris’s policies in her first term.

Records indicate Ivanka donated $2,000 to Harris’s reelection fund in 2014–one year after Daddy gave a second donation to Harris’s campaign fund in 2013.  As former RNC chair Michael Steele noted, it was one of Donald Trump’s few good investments.

Asked by the second-biggest suck-up in the room why he chose ineffective Ohio Theilian Senator JD Bowman Hamel Vance to fill the Vice President’s noose slot on his ticket, Donald Trump clearly doesn’t know his running mate.

Democratic strategist, former White House Chief of Staff, and the leader of Joe Biden’s successful 2020 Jen O’Malley Dillon will lead designated successor Kamala Harris’s effort to win the Party nomination and ultimately the White House, continuing in the role she played with the Biden campaign, the Washington Post reports.

That doesn’t mean, however, that changes won’t be made.  Advisors are pushing Harris to bring in seasoned campaign advisors to supplement the team Biden had and the members of her staff from the campaign Harris will want to promote.  One name being mentioned:  David Plouffe, who led Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign.

As Vice President Kamala Harris continues to pile up delegate commitments from those previously committed to incumbent President Joe Biden, the Democratic National Committee is reportedly considering scheduling a virtual roll call vote next week to solidify Harris’s nomination, Politico reports.  Harris reportedly has already secured 1,407 delegates; to win the nomination, she needs to get 1,976.

Working with the Convention Rules Committee, the Democratic Party is prepared to shift the nominating portion of the Convention to an electronic format to ensure that our Democratic nominees for President and Vice President are certified before state ballot access deadlines,” Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison and Rules Committee co-chair Minyon Moore wrote in a memo, according to the Washington Post, which reports Party insiders working to avoid a contested convention in August.

In the largest single day in ActBlue’s history, newly-assumed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris raised $241 million dollars from donors in all categories since incumbent President Joe Biden announced he would not longer seek the nomination, the New York Daily News reports.

Harris raised nearly $50 million from small-dollar donors after Biden’s announcement.  ActBlue, the Democratic fundraising organization, reported the busiest day in its history:  at 7 p.m. ET, it reported raising $27 million; by 9:30 p.m. that amount had jumped to $46.7 million.  On Monday, the campaign announced it had raised more than $80 million in small-dollar donations in the first 24 hours.

That combines with $150 million committed by the so-called big-money donors and an estimated $95 million already in the Biden-Harris campaign account to give Harris a formidable war chest going into the election.

Sources within the Trump campaign “have aired out” to ABC News “frustrations surrounding new advertisement and messaging strategies” now necessary after President Joe Biden dropped his reelection bid and Veep Kamala Harris became the presumptive nominee, echoing the fat bastard’s ridiculous complaint that someone owes the RNC money for all that they spent on Biden attack ads.

Trump’s minions are especially annoyed that they spent so much time and money producing attack ads clipped from Biden’s train wreck of a debate. The “MAGA Inc” PAC spent $30 million alone on ad placements attacking Biden, now they’re having to quickly fill them with anti-Harris bullshit.

Thanks to various unjustified vaccine phobias and skepticism, only one in three kindergarten classes in Arizona’s public and private schools have sufficient “herd immunity” to fend off the spread of measles through the student populations if a student gets infected with the virus, the Arizona Republic reports.

Nearly 33% of private schools reported sufficient populations of students being inoculated, while public school rates surpassed 35%.  Just 17% of charter schools in the state reported having a high enough percentage of kindergarteners vaccinated against measles.

The US Supreme Court on Monday ordered the State of New York to respond by Wednesday to Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s moronic lawsuit over “election interference” for prosecuting convicted felon former President Trump, John Solomon’s shitty website reports.

What this actually means – as in whether its standard procedure or if Los Supremos are actually entertaining this stupid bullshit – we don’t know. State on state lawsuits are the only instance in which the Supreme Court becomes a trial court and in a trial court a defendant has to make some sort of initial response to a complaint, no matter how frivolous and ball-sucking it may be.

“Today, it is with immense pride and limitless optimism for our country’s future that I endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. My enthusiastic support for Kamala Harris for President is official, personal and political,” says former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a statement, moving quicker than the other Dem chieftains – Obama, Schumer, Jeffries – to back the new presumptive nominee after forcing President Biden out of the campaign.

Sources tell the Washington Post that brainwormed Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr spoke with convicted felon former president Donald Trump about endorsing Donald’s campaign and taking a job in a second Trump Reich, overseeing an anti-vax portfolio. The Post writes that the talks, some of which were caught on tape and leaked, “did not result in an agreement amid concerns in Trump’s orbit about the complications about promising a job in exchange for a political endorsement, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations.” As if “ethics” actually mattered to Trump and his crew.

“All I will say to you is I am willing to talk to anybody from either political party who wants to talk about children’s health and how to end the chronic disease epidemic,” Bobby told the Post, adding that Trump has been more open to him than the Democratic Party. “I have a lot of respect for president Trump for reaching out to me. Republican Taunton, Massachusetts Mayor Shaunna O’Connell on Monday issued a statement admitting that she and her husband Ted have “had challenges,” after 27 years together and they’ve been “working through marital issues,” the Taunton Daily Gazette reports on a statement made to explain why the mayor was to be arraigned in court that morning on charges of assault and battery on a household member plus assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

“During an argument, Ted involved the police and regrets making that decision. We ask for privacy for our family on personal matters as we work through this matter,” the statement continued.

Vice President Kamala Harris will on Monday make her first public appearance as presumptive nominee for the Democratic ticket… at a White House reception for champ NCAA teams that Joe Biden was supposed to headline but was benched due to COVID. Harris was probably penciled in for this even before Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday, so expect a lot of scripted lines about the importance of college sports at the top but hopefully she’ll take questions once the ceremony’s over.
