A Republican former Maryland Deputy Secretary of State who served briefly on the Trump Regime’s stupid “voter fraud” commission in 2017 was arrested last week for soliciting sex with a minor after a US Army Criminal Investigation Office agent posing as a 13 year-old girl in an online chat said “she” would meet up with him in a parking lot in Anne Arundel County, NBC Washington reports.

Luis Borunda, whose stint on the commission disgraced former President Trump formed to investigate how he lost the popular vote in 2016 – as if that was a fucking necessary use of taxpayer dollars – didn’t last long, served for eight years as second in command of Maryland’s top elections office as an appointee of “RINO” Governor Larry Hogan. Borunda quit the commission, led by legendary Kansas moron Kris Kobach, on July 3, 2017 on the orders of Hogan, who tried to make it sound like Borunda had been freelancing. A Freedom of Information Act request by a Maryland watchdog eventually turned up emails indicating that Borunda had in fact been given permission by both Hogan-appointed Secretary of State John Wobensmith and Chief of Staff Sam Malhotra. The whole issue still seems murky, like if the publicly MAGA-skeptic Hogan may’ve just wanted to send his guy there to push back on the bullshit or if Borunda sold it because he was on Team Kobach.

Canadians Tamara Lich and Chris Barber, who organized the Canadian “Freedom Convoy” that blocked traffic at one of the key international trade routes between in the US and Canada, began their trial in Ottawa on mischief, obstructing police, counseling others to commit mischief, and intimidation charges, Newsweek reports.

Duplicating their American MAGAt counterparts who conducted a couple convoys to Washington, DC as a demonstration against science and public health, the Canadians were supposedly protesting American transborder policy that required truckers to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.  Later, it developed into a general anti-establishment, anti-government protest that lasted a few day, blocking the Ambassador Bridge, before Canadian dreamboat Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the nation’s Emergencies Act to break up the protest.

As Newsweek notes, Canadian Twitter and other social media sites are bristling with calls for violence should the pair be convicted in the trial, which is expected to wrap up in mid-October after 13 days of testimony this month, followed by a few more days next.  “The final decision by the trial judge will have substantive consequences for our future -if exonerated then we have hope if guilty we will have a civil uprising!!” a Twitter user called Concern Canadian posted.

The DC Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday handed Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s team a setback in their pursuit of Pennsylvania MAGA Congressman Scott Perry, whose phone was seized pursuant to a search warrant in August 2022 which Smith sought to access to see if the House Freedom Caucasians leader had any criminal liability in his involvement in the plot to overturn the Orange Warlord’s humiliating defeat in the 2020 election, Politico reports.

The ruling may not be the end of the road for Smith as he can still seek a review by the court’s full bench. Low budget MAGA propaganda network OAN and dipshit reporter Chanel Rion last week reached a settlement with former Dominion Voting Systems executive Eric Coomer, who had sued for defamation in Colorado after the channel had falsely accused him of being an agent of Antifa who had rigged the 2020 election against President Trump. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Meadows had waited until the last minute while still awaiting a federal judge’s decision if the shitweasel former House Freedom Caucasians member can remove his case to federal court in hopes of a more MAGA-friendly judge and jury pool than could be found in Fulton County. The only remaining defendant yet to answer the charges is former Coffee County clerk Misty Hampton, indicted for letting right wing conspiracy freaks into her office to steal data from a Dominion Voting Systems server in a failed scheme to find evidence the 2020 election had been “hacked.”

Prosecutors on Tuesday asked a Long Island federal judge to push back a hearing scheduled for this week in the 13 count fraud case against lying piece of shit Republican Congressman George Santos to October 27, writing “the parties have continued to discuss possible paths forward in this matter,” and “the parties wish to have additional time to continue those discussions,” strongly indicating that the Trump-loving Jew-ish former Brazilian drag queen could be getting ready to give up the ghost.

Which is the last thing titular Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy needs right now with his single-digit GOP majority. A felony conviction does not mean an immediate, automatic expulsion from the House, however there’s the likelihood that the terms of any plea deal will include resignation.

A three-judge panel–including two Trump-appointed judges and one originally assigned to the bench by Ronald Reagan–appointed a special master to redraw the Congressional districts in Alabama after the Republican-dominated state legislature refused to comply with a federal court order to create a second Black-representative district.

In June, the Supreme Court ordered the Alabama legislature to redraw its Congressional map to ensure an additional Black majority district.  Instead, the GOP-led legislature lowered the percentage of Blacks in the one Black-majority district in the state and slightly raised the percentage of Black voters in another district, two things that did not meet the Supreme Court order.

“Based on the evidence before us, including testimony from the Legislators, we have no reason to believe that allowing the Legislature still another opportunity to draw yet another map will yield a map that includes an additional opportunity district. Moreover, counsel for the State has informed the Court that, even if the Court were to grant the Legislature yet another opportunity to draw a map, it would be practically impossible for the Legislature to reconvene and do so in advance of the 2024 election cycle. Accordingly, the Special Master and cartographer are DIRECTED to commence work forthwith on a remedial map. Instructions shall follow by separate order.”

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr’s office on Tuesday announced more than five dozen Antifa activists connected to the protests over the “Cop City” training center construction site have been charged in a massive RICO case over the disruptions, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

While we didn’t come across any right wingers specifically whatabouting the “Cop City” shitshow in the aftermath of disgraced former President Trump and 18 of his minions getting charged in a RICO case over their failed attempt to overturn the result of the 2020 election in the state last month, it’s still fucking hilarious to see these charges handed down right in the middle of all their bitching about how the Peach State’s justice system is rigged against them. It’s just too bad that it’s the “RINO” attorney general prosecuting the case rather than Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis. The case however will be tried in Fulton courts and it was a grand jury from the county, extremely likely to be the very same grand jury that indicted the Trump 19, that handed down the indictment.

Another potential problem for the MAGA media industrial complex: The Journal-Constitution’s report on the 61 defendants – many of them charged with domestic terrorism – specifically mentions that most of them “are not from Georgia” raising the possibility that some can be identified as being not hardcore Marxist Antifa commies but bloodthirsty “accelerationists” like Boogaloos or MAGA scumbags who infiltrated the protests to escalate the violent confrontations with cops.

Tennessee state Representative Gloria Johnson, the older, female member of the now-infamous “Tennessee Three” trio who was spared expulsion from the state House in April on account of whitness while younger Black compatriots Justins Pearson and Jones were kicked out over a gun violence protest in the state Capitol, on Tuesday officially launched her campaign to take on incumbent “life coach” dipshit Senator Marsha Blackburn in 2024, the Tennessean reports.

One might want to say “What the fuck? Why her and not one of the other two?” and understandably so given Johnson’s apparent health issues and race, not to mention age. However age is actually the problem as Jones was born on August 25, 1995 and would be constitutionally ineligible to serve in the Senate. So would Pearson, born January 7, 1995, four freaking days too late to qualify to be sworn in to the Senate on January 3, 2025. There’s also the political environment where it’s probably simply just not the year that a Dem is going to take down Blackburn. We would love to be wrong about this, but if Johnson can soften Blackburn and position Jones or Pearson for a stronger, more energetic run against the other Republican in a few years then it won’t be a waste of an effort.

Several central Florida Republican state lawmakers are considering “all legislative, legal and executive options available” to force businesses in a small Orlando-area city to stop displaying rainbow “safe space” decals to indicate that they’re LGBTQ+ friendly establishments, warning that the completely voluntary city-sponsored initiative puts the community “in the crosshairs of potentially detrimental and absolutely unnecessary economic harm,” Local10.com reports.

The Mount Dora, Florida city council approved the program last month only to be met with the angry letter dated August 21, 2023 and signed by Republican state Senator Dennis Baxley and Representatives Keith Truenow, Taylor Yarkosky, and Stan McClain, warning they “simply won’t stand for any policy that leads to divisive and unsafe conditions for the residents of our great county. This absolutely goes against all the Constitutional, Biblical, Law and Order principles that this country was founded on and still continue to make this country great today, where deployed.”

The Kraken, listed among the co-conspirators in the Smith team’s indictment is also a person of interest in the scam fundraising aspect of the ongoing federal investigation into the MAGA Reich. Another accused felon mentioned in CNN’s report as being of interest to federal prosecutors is Michigan MAGA lawyer Stefanie Lambert, currently facing charges for her involvement in the theft of at least one Dominion Voting Systems tabulator from a clerk’s office in the Great Lakes State.

One thread between Georgia and Michigan we never previously picked up on, which is freaking hilarious, is that, until November 2022, Lambert was actually counsel for Misty Hampton, the dipshit former Coffee County Clerk who allowed the Kraken’s scumbags into her office to steal whatever software and data they wanted from the county’s Dominion Voting Systems-built election server.

President Biden’s reelection campaign will run an ad titled “Got to Work,” during Thursday’s NFL season premiere faceoff between the Super Bowl champs the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions as the opening kickoff to his $25 million blitz defense of his economic record, Axios reports.

The ad, which touts achievements such as “fixing supply chains, fighting corporate greed, passing laws to lower the cost of medicine and cutting utility bills and make us more energy independent,” will run on local NBC affiliates carrying the game in key swing state media markets including Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nevada. It’s also been booked for spots on all major media news networks, but will only run on Fox News during the daytime.

The Japanese government may launch a case in the nation’s courts to dissolve the local branch of the Church of the Unification, aka The Moonies, after a man aggrieved over his mother’s devotion to the South Korean cult blasted former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with a homemade shotgun last year over Abe’s links to the South Korean Christian cult, the Guardian reports citing local news.

The man who shot and killed Abe during a speech in the city of Nara last July told cops he believed Abe was linked to the Moonies’ Japanese branch. Nicknamed for their founder, the late Reverend Sun Myung Moon, who thought he was Jesus and that Korean people were the master race (a belief that the church’s non-Korean membership willingly agrees with), the Moonies are a serious financial suck on their adherents, and the shooter, 42 year-old Tetsuya Yamagami, believed his mother was bankrupted by her devotion to the Unification Church and took it out on Abe.

The Moonies have deep links to the American Conservatives, roping in Vice Former Guy Mike Pence to speak at their global forum in Seoul earlier last year (with disgraced ex-President Trump also addressing them via video), and owning the Washington Times, among other newspapers. Abe himself had spoken at Moonies events, most recently addressing them via video in September 2021, so Yamagami wasn’t entirely wrong to believe Abe was “linked” to the evil cult.

Following the assassination, the Moonies put out a statement saying “guns have no place in our religious beliefs or practices,” which might be technically correct about their mainline branch. The tens of thousands of rich, privileged people who had their Labor Day weekend ruined by the mud around the Burning Man festival in a remote part of Nevada have been released, and the “great exodus” has begun, CNN reports.

About 64,000 remained of the original crowd, estimated to have peaked at 72,000 before people started trekking out of the festival site when the site was access to the site was shut down due to dangerous, muddy roads.  The eponymous burning of The Man was rescheduled for Monday night, according to an announcement on the festival’s site.
