Attorney General William Barr will get a coronavirus test following his appearance yesterday before the House Judiciary Committee after Committee member Louie Gohmert, the Texas republican who refused to wear a mask during the hearing, tested positive for the virus, USA Today reports.
Barr testified before the committee that he did not support national enforcement of a mandatory mask order. Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) berated republicans on the committee who refused to wear masks at the hearing, which is a committee rule.
In a call with reporters Wednesday, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer lambasted republicans who fail to practice public health recommendations.
“To be frank, too many republicans have continued to act extraordinarily irresponsibly, including Louie Gohmert. Louie Gohmert ought to quarantine himself right now,” Hoyer said.
