In a conference call with state governors, Vice President Mike Pence Monday implored governors to put politics aside and promote a coronavirus vaccine when the White House declares it safe and effective, the Associated Press reports.
“What we don’t want is people undermining confidence in the process,” Pence said according to audio obtained by The Associated Press. Pence was apparently unaware that much of the distrust stems from President Trump’s politically motivated declarations about a potential vaccine.
