After the unhinged performance by Donald Trump and the restrained demeanor of Democratic nominee Joe Biden in Tuesday night’s debate, Biden has tied his all-time high in the PredictIt marketplace.
While the PredictIt site isn’t a scientific poll, it provides immediate feedback on the views of participants without having to wait for polling. Participants buy “shares” of candidates based on their feelings of the likelihood that candidate will win.
Biden’s shares jumped 4¢ overnight, hitting its all-time high of 63¢ per share. Trump’s shares dropped 1¢ to 42¢.
Additionally, the marketplace swung some key states to Biden overnight in the wake of the debate. Florida and North Carolina, previously leaning to Trump, are not leaning to Biden. Other states such as Ohio, Georgia and Iowa are now at their closest margins during the election cycle.
