Just a reminder about how many different kinds of criminal Bernie Kerik is: the former NYPD Commissioner had his nomination by GW Bush to be Homeland Security Secretary upended by various reports of his criminal activity, including receiving kickbacks for NYPD contracts, tax fraud, lying to investigators, and (of all things) hiring undocumented immigrants as a nanny and a housekeeper.
Thrice-married, he also used a city-owned apartment that had been set aside for use by first responders in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, to conduct two simultaneous extra-marital affairs.
He spent 40 months in federal prison and then went to work for Giuliani Associates, a security firm run by former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. He received a pardon from Donald Trump in February 2020.
Oh, and Kerik was recorded during one of those investigations discussing wiretapping Fox News host Jeanine Pirro’s husband, whom she thought was having an affair. Kerik contacted Giuliani’s consulting firm to get the device.
Let’s also not forget that Kerik was one of the, um, “dignitaries” at Giuliani’s blockbuster press conference at Four Seasons Landscaping in Philadelphia.
