“A Bloomfield man threw pumpkins at a woman and her vehicle Wednesday afternoon, after the woman parked in front of his home to pick up her grandchild a few doors down the street, Pittsburgh police said. According to court documents, James Gazis, 41, is charged with aggravated assault and propulsion of a missile. According to a criminal complaint, the victim told police that she parked near her son’s house on Pearl Street where Mr. Gazis’ wife and child were walking and began to scream at her for parking in front of their house. However, Mr. Gazis told police he came outside when he heard his wife yelling, and his wife told him that the victim’s car that was parked in front of their house ‘almost hit her and their child,’ the complaint said. According to the complaint, the victim said that she saw Mr. Gazis throw a pumpkin at her vehicle and heard it hit, and then was ‘struck in the head by a second pumpkin while seated in her vehicle.”

“The victim’s son told police that after Mr. Gazis threw the pumpkins, he approached Mr. Gazis and ‘a fist fight ensued,’ and that he ‘threw [Mr. Gazis] to the ground,’ according to the complaint. Medics bandaged Mr. Gazis’ toe, according to the complaint, and he was then transported to the Allegheny County Jail. In the complaint, a detective reviewed the incident caught on surveillance tape, and that it ‘did not appear that [James Gazis’ wife] or her child were ever in danger of being struck by [the victim’s] vehicle while crossing the street.’ According to court records, Mr. Gazis was released from jail Thursday on nonmonetary bail” – Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
