The jury found Kim Potter guilty of two counts of manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright.
After four days of deliberations, the jury in the trial of former Brooklyn Park, Minnesota Kim Potter for the shooting death of unarmed Black motorist Daunte Wright in April found her guilty. Potter, 49, was charged with first- and second-degree manslaughter in the death of 20-year-old Wright. Potter has maintained that she intended to use her Taser on Wright, who was being detained and resisting arrest, but mistakenly fired her pistol, killing Wright. This shooting happened in the midst of the Derek Chauvin murder trial, in which the former Minneapolis police officer was found guilty of three counts of murder in the death of George Floyd.
