Organic strawberries sold in stores around the United States and in Canada have been linked to a multistate outbreak of Hepatitis A, the Food and Drug Administration announced, according to the Washington Post.
“Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not sell, serve, or eat any fresh organic strawberries branded as FreshKampo or HEB if purchased between March 5, 2022, and April 25, 2022,” the FDA wrote in a statement published Saturday. The strawberries are sold in many supermarket chains, including Aldi, Safeway, Trader Joe’s and Walmart.
Seventeen cases of HepA have been linked to the produce; fifteen of those cases are in California and two in Minnesota;. HepA is rarely fatal, but can cause long-term liver damage. The FDA recommends throwing out the strawberries, but if you think the hepatitis is a blot by Bill Gates to sell microdots of LSD to put people under his control, ignore the FDA suggestions and eat ’em up.
