Cops in Malaysia on Thursday arrested former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on corruption charges over alleged abuse and money laundering linked to government contracts, the AP reports.
Muhyiddin’s far right Islamic opposition fanboys were naturally enraged by the arrest, calling it politically motivated as it comes ahead of state elections. Current Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said they should stop bitching and just deal with it. “If you said all cases are politically motivated, then how are we going to arrest people for big corruption cases?” said Anwar.
