Fat former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will launch his 2024 presidential campaign at an event in New Hampshire next week, Axios reports on a non-game changer for the GOP primary field.
We would say Christie’s entry is going to further dilute the chances of any one contender to knock off disgraced former President Trump, but (A) the die was pretty much already cast on that when Nikki Haley jumped in rather than backing Ron DeSantis or maybe Tim Scott and (B) it’s not like Chris Christie 2024 was going to make any goddamned difference either way. That being said maybe, just maybe, there’s something to the hype that Christie could materially hurt Trump’s support by taking him on in the way that the other candidates are terrified of, like when Christie recently called Donald a “puppet of Putin,” which is not nothing compared to the rest of them.
