On Thursday right wing propaganda site Breitbart “reported” that an April 2, 2022 New York Times article on President Joe Biden’s privately-held frustrations with Attorney General Merrick Garland over being too slow to act against fat former President Trump had “resurfaced,” simply because some right wing douchebag named David Sacks (lol) tweeted a screenshot of this relevant section from the story: “Mr Biden confided to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments. And while the president has never communicated his frustrations directly to Mr Garland, he has said privately that he wanted Mr Garland to act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor who is willing to take decisive action over the events of Jan 6.”
Who the hell knows if Breitbart had picked up that story when the Times published it. National Zero sure did. Our guess is probably not and their editors were like “WTF?!? HOW DID WE MISS THIS?”
They pretty much had to grab that dipshit’s tweet to frame the story as having “resurfaced” while their champion is being persecuted by a DC establishment whose power he gravely threatens.
That last sentence was not some eye-rolling repetition of their bullshit. Breitbart and the rest of the MAGA propaganda industrial complex are making a factual objective statement when they say that the failed 45th president’s comeback attempt represents an existential threat to the federal government as we know it. Every component – the good, bad, and benign. No agency, bureau, or institution, administrator, middle manager, or employee down to the janitors are safe from from a sweeping ideological purge starting January 20, 2025 should Trump win the electoral college.

This is not some conspiracy theory or exaggerated rant by a neurotic liberal blogger. Trump’s hardcore fascist minions like Russ Vought, Stephen Miller, Kash Patel, Steve Bannon and others are working day and night drawing up plans to ensure only the most ruthless and fanatically loyal are installed in positions of immense power, including the state monopoly on lethal force.
This is to say nothing of the shit Trump himself has been openly promising – revenge political prosecutions of judges, Democratic politicians, and prosecutors who charged him, closing the southern border to commerce, deploying troops to round up and intern illegal immigrants, and shutting down media outlets critical of him. Believe him except for the “Day One Only” part.

That Trump did not use every tool at his disposal to destroy American democracy after he lost a free and fair election back in 2020 is not in any way comforting to those who fear his return.
Less comforting… Well actually extremely fucking distressing and brain-meltingly terrifying to liberals are the early polls showing Biden in position to lose not just the electoral college but the popular vote too, according to the Real Clear Politics and FiveThirtyEight averages, with the horserace circlejerkers in the mainstream media absolutely LOVING the close numbers promising huge ratings and traffic from audiences that’ll tune back in during a tight race and then a second Trump Reich. Nothing gets them and MAGA Republicans harder than some lib saying “OMG I can’t believe how many Americans are stupid and suicidal enough to want Trump to come back into power after he’s been indicted on 91 felony charges and impeached twice. Wahhhhh!!!”
Fear is the mind-killer. It leads you to act irrationally and in ways that play right into the hands of the forces of darkness that want you broken and impotent. They win when you lose hope and admit defeat before the first vote is even cast in this apocalyptic, knife’s-edge contest.
We could go into all the evidence that the registered voter polls right now putting Biden behind Trump are a mirage not reflecting actual intent, that this week the New York Times/Siena College found Biden ahead by 2 percent among likely voters (and fucking buried that in their write up on their survey), that what little New Hampshire general election poll numbers we have are evidence that Trump isn’t improving from 2020 in the states where he’s actually campaigning currently (and just barely improving in Iowa), that the fat orange fuck is lamely spinning the now record-high stock market, that it’s poised to shoot even higher next year when the Fed finally eases interest rates.
None of that matters to the liberals dead set on feeding the fear vampires on the right.
So we’ll just say it: Man the fuck up. Stop pissing your pants. Defeatism is immoral. We want none of it here in 2024. Acknowledge setbacks but do not give into them. Trump is not an immortal being with superpowers. He’s been defeated before, as have his loyal minions who he tried to put in power in the swing states in 2022 to rig the 2024 election for him. Be confident but not hubristic that democracy will prevail. Internalize all this and spread the positivity to others.
And remember, the other guys are scared too. They’re fucking TERRIFIED, if you haven’t noticed. If you think that being a liberal worried that the Supreme Court might not reject Trump’s complete bullshit “presidential immunity” argument in time for him to face a federal trial jury in DC before election day is bad then try being a fanboy having to rely on them to not to duck a challenge to the Colorado Supreme Court disqualifying the fat bastard from the ballot – knowing that if they do then it’ll lead to a cascade of other states removing him, effectively reelecting Biden by default if the right states go, or forcing the GOP to nominate Nikki Haley and alienating massive swaths of the GOP voter base. Even if in the likelier event the Supreme Court finds some bullshit way to strike down the disqualification it’s not what Republicans want the media to be talking about. The fact that Trump incited a violent insurrection against the government of the United States doesn’t play all that well in the suburbs. You can kind of tell he knows this by the “I’m not an Insurrectionist (‘PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY’), Crooked Joe Biden is!!!” post Trump wrote on Thursday.
The Republicans and their media allies also don’t want the media to be covering the fascist police state Trump is planning. Trump and his minions themselves are kind of freaking the fuck out over it too, with Maggie Haberman telling CNN that his campaign knows it’s a “trouble spot” and “a concern to voters,” prompting Donald to claim he was “joking” earlier this month.
Or abortion. That’s also a negative. Even as Trump sometimes tries to weasel away from it, he did more than anyone else to end Roe v Wade or, maybe more importantly, from the referenda that will more likely than not appear on the ballot alongside him in states like Arizona, Florida, and Nevada.
Probably not going to hear that much about the economy if things keep going this way. So we’re left with Hunter Biden and the border, both of which the GOP and their compliant media have been hyping the shit out of, but it’s more “base maintenance” than anything that’ll actually percolate.
Fear is the mind-killer. It’s killing their minds too. Arguably even worse than it is for liberals. MAGA conservatives are not rational people but they’re becoming more and more irrational as it becomes clear how narrow the path truly is. Trump himself will become increasingly unhinged right as the scrutiny is increasing. That’s where your head should be next year. Anything and everything you can do to kill their minds with fear strengthens the collective resolve of all opposed to fascism. Let’s look forward to next Christmas being one of a celebration of joy and rebirth for our nation, knowing that the Orange Antichrist will die in prison, full of the confidence necessary to face the next challenge.
