At least nine people are dead and another 30 have been injured when a fire erupted at an assisted living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts at about 9:30 PM EDT on Sunday, WCVB reports.
“This is an unfathomable tragedy for the families involved and the Fall River community,” Fall River Fire Department Chief Jeffrey Bacon said. “On behalf of the Fall River Fire Department, I want to express our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones who are grieving this morning.” Five firefighters suffered minor injuries during the inferno at the 100-unit Gabriel House assisted-living facility.
