With North Korea provocatively firing missile after missile–some sources say it’s fired more than 30 missiles over the last three days–US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said any attempt to use nuclear weapons against American or allied forces would be disastrous for the attackers, The Guardian reports.
Meeting with his South Korean counterpart, defense minister, Lee Jong-sup, Austin warned the North Korea dictator that such foolishness would not end well for him: “Any nuclear attack against the United States or its allies and partners, including the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, is unacceptable and will result in the end of the Kim regime.”
Last week, a North Korea official statement said the country would subject the United States and South Korea would “pay the most horrible price in history,” apocalyptic language the North Korean regime has used to talk about nuclear attacks.
