Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin reportedly agreed on a stop-gap funding plan that will avoid a government shutdown at the end of September, ABC News reports.
The funding will prevent monies for government operations from being wrapped up in the discussions regarding coronavirus relief aid which republicans have held up.
“House Democrats are for a clean continuing resolution,” Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill told ABC News.
There was no word from President Trump or Senate Majority Leader on the deal. They have had little involvement in the ongoing negotiations between Democratic leaders Pelosi and Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer going against White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Mnuchin.
