The FBI have posted a series of Facebook ads aimed at getting Chinese-language speakers to report if they suspect they’ve been the targets of transnational repression and harassment campaigns by the Xi regime, Axios reports. The ads, themselves written in Mandarin, have been running in the Philadelphia area ask anyone who’s been targeted by cyberstalking, physical or digital harassment, assault or extortion to contact the FBI’s Philly field office.
It’s not clear why the FBI targeted the Philadelphia area specifically, but it could be some sort of pilot program leading to a national campaign. “Many victims are not aware transnational repression is illegal. As a result, the FBI strives to educate communities about [transnational repression], the methods used, and how to report to the FBI,” the bureau said in a statement. ChiCom agents have been arrested with increasing frequency over the last few years in a number of incidents of targeted repression, with at least 19 Xi-loyal scumbags being hit with various federal charges in 2022.
