Napoleonic Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expressed support for privatizing Social Security and Medicare during his first campaign for Congress back in 2012, CNN’s KFile has found.
“I would embrace proposals like [some batshit plan Paul Ryan had for privatizing Medicare at the time while he was running as Mitt Romney’s VP pick] and other people have offered, that are going to provide some market forces in there, more consumer choice, and make it so that it’s not just basically a system that’s just going to be bankrupt when you have new people coming into it,” said DeSantis in a video interview with a St Augustine, Florida local newspaper. “Social Security, I would do the same thing,” DeSantis added, long before he knew this would be used as ammo against him in a presidential campaign against a fat, racist game show host and Democrats alike.
Of course never mind that Donald himself while campaigning for reelection in 2020 he would defund both by ending payroll taxes (probably too stupid to have realized that at the time).
