Cops in Lahore, Pakistan on Wednesday halted their long fight with supporters of Imran Khan outside the ex-Prime Minister’s home as roads blocked by the clashes threatened to halt an important Pakistan Super League tournament cricket match in the area, Al-Jazeera reports.
“Since the teams have to reach the stadium a few hours before the match and the routes need to be cleared out, the security personnel at Zaman Park have stepped back for a short while,” a cop told Al-Jazeera. A judge later ordered police to give up on trying to arrest Khan until Thursday, which we’re going to just take a wild guess is some kind of ruse to get Khan’s fans to let their guard down.
