In its every-widening effort to lobotomize itself while simultaneously constructing an alternate reality outside of Disney World, the board that governs Florida’s state universities has removed an introductory sociology class from the course catalog and replaced it with “Introductory Survey to 1877,” a release from the university system states.
“The addition provides students with the opportunity to take a factual history course that focuses on the forces that shaped America as part of their general education course requirements,” the Board of Governors said in a statement. “Introductory Survey to 1877 teaches students a historically accurate account of America’s founding, the horrors of slavery, the resulting Civil War, and the Reconstruction era.”
The statement doesn’t describe what was un-factual about the history courses on the era previously taught by the university system.
