Angela Chao, the sister-in-law of outgoing Senate Minority Leader and statue-in-training Mitch McConnell had a blood alcohol content three times higher than the legal limit when she drove her car into a pond in a fatal accident on a private ranch in Texas, the Associated Press reports. The report into her death describes Chao driving her Tesla into the pond, with guests and deputies trying to get her out. In her car, Chao phoned a friend and spent eight minutes on the phone as the car filled with water and sank. After about two hours in the water, rescuers were able to pull her out but she was already done. Her blood alcohol content was .233, nearly three times the 0.08 legal limit in Texas.
