“The Lincoln Project, the group led by former Republican strategists working to defeat President Donald Trump, is launching a $1 million ad campaign in Texas. The effort, which the group is calling ‘Operation Sam Houston,’ includes advertising on TV, YouTube and Facebook. The campaign will run for a week as an initial investment.”
“‘Texas has been moving towards a swing state for many cycles now and Donald Trump has dramatically accelerated that trend,” Lincoln Project co-founder Mike Madrid says in a statement, noting the monthslong consistency of polling showing a close race in the state. ‘We see an opportunity in Texas and we are going to take advantage of it.’ The Lincoln Project has already been up on TV this election cycle in Texas, but the $1 million blitz appears to represent its most thorough effort here yet. A spokesperson says the group is targeting over 600,000 ‘suburban and rural Republican women.’ The group is also tailoring the campaign to Hispanic voters” – Texas Tribune.
