A north New Jersey elementary school named after soon-to-be-former Senator and convicted felon Robert “Gold Bars Bob” Menendez will be denamed back to its pre-2013 designator, West New York PS #3, the New Jersey Globe reports. And yeah, there’s a town called West New York in New Jersey.
It’s confusing as hell. Anyway, Menendez is not the first Garden State politician to have his name removed from public infrastructure following a federal criminal conviction, as he follows in the ignominious steps of former Senator Harrison A Williams Jr, whose eponymous Metropark train station in Iselin was denamed in the 1980s after Williams went down in the Abscam sting.
