We’ve seen MAGAmerica go through some rough patches before but the current one is starting to feel considerably different. Every time their Orange Allah was investigated, impeached, sued, or indicted many of his fans actually secretly and often not-so-secretly enjoyed it, like the righteous validation of him being a threat to the system was a rush, the defiance of “establishment” norms and laws in pursuit of maintaining and/or restoring his power was focusing and electrifying. Same when he got shot in the ear too. Even losing in 2020 was a galvanizing moment in a way it gave them a unifying cause to fuel their movement and torment the Biden Administration they saw as illegitimate.
As much as we mocked the old “YOU LIBS JUST REELECTED TRUMP” over the past five or six years it’s never actually truly been a hollow threat. Ron DeSantis can tell you that, before his campaign was even over he literally fucking admitted that if there’s anything he could’ve changed about his failed presidential campaign it would have been that he wished Trump wouldn’t have gotten indicted in March 2023. Put aside the absurdity of Tiny D saying he would have changed something out of his control and that he could have simply backed out since Trump was first charged was two months before DeSantis had officially launched his 2024 primary campaign, Ron ain’t wrong: GOP 2024 primary polls had been pretty tight between them up until that point but Trump pulled away after he was indicted. Last year a Republican primary voter told a focus group “I would have preferred DeSantis. But I have to support Trump because we have to gain back our country. I only switched over to support Trump because indicting him is an outrage and threatens democracy.”
It simply doesn’t matter whether you think that’s demented beyond parody. It’s the reality we live with, that people actually say and believe that kind of horseshit. There’s no point in lamenting the fact that, where anti-MAGAs see Trump as Jabba the Hutt, an obese, foul-smelling orange slug who enslaves women, surrounds himself with all sorts of bizarre freaks and abject sycophants, his fans prefer to see him as Han Solo, a charming outlaw always one step ahead of the established order.

All those times that you thought the chips were down for Trump it was a battle cry for his fanboys, the beginning of his thrilling escape from justice both earthly and karmic, a denouement they lived for about four weeks from late June to late July this year. Their Dear Leader, the entire MAGA movement, the GOP were unstoppable and the libs would be crushed under the boot of their Empire.
Trump literally got shot in the ear and it was the apex moment of triumph. “First THEY tried to impeach, then THEY tried to imprison him, then THEY tried kill him, and he’s still fighting for you and all Americans,” the refrain went as the aura of invincibility surrounded the man who remained the corrupt fat pile of shit he’s always been his entire life… Then some other stuff happened.
President Trump was nearly assassinated a second time and this is what you’re posting? The crude slander that Americans can’t object to the current government breaking a dozen different laws to mass import illegal migrants into their communities?
Shame on you. Reprehensible.

Seems like we’re getting almost into fugue state territory from the MAGA media and their consumers these days. Maybe panic isn’t the right word quite yet, but they at least seem to be significantly more fucking unhinged than usual. Last month we wrote that they seemed directionless, unmotivated, confused. The double dick punch of Trump immolating himself in the debate and Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris absolutely did tighten the psychological vise. The first one they’re coping with using the usual playbook of denying reality, trying to slap together some really fucking stupid conspiracy theory to make it look like there’s a “whistleblower” who will expose collusion between the Harris campaign and ABC News. They’re failing, but at least that’s keeping them comfortable, like they’re still exerting some modicum of “control” over the situation.
This despite the fact that even if it were 100 percent true and it still wouldn’t matter because Kamala Harris made the fat bastard look just as mentally ill as we all know him to be, live in front of at least 67 million American voters when his own campaign so desperately needed a win.

Whatever’s gonna make them feel better. True, they are having an extremely difficult time coping with the the debate even if the extent of whatever damage that was done isn’t clear yet. They know he lost but these bullshit conspiracy theories are at least something to keep them occupied.
The Taylor Swift situation on the other hand… No. Nothing’s going to make them feel better. Not Trump posting “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!!!” Not Mark Levin calling her an imbecile. Not Megyn Kelly saying “Fuck you Taylor Swift.” Not anything that Charlie Kirk or Ben Shapiro on any of them post or tell their podcast listeners. And certainly not the op-ed the Wall Street Journal printed on Tuesday, headlined “If Taylor Swift Had Endorsed Donald Trump,” trying to frame liberals as hypocrites because of something that didn’t and would not happen:
Democrats hope to use Ms Swift’s endorsement to drive them to the polls. But it isn’t difficult to imagine what the left would be saying about her had she endorsed the Republican antihero. It might go something like this:
The billionaire has gotten rich by ripping off fans, avoiding taxes and harming competitors. Time for the government to break her up. Unlike rival artists, Ms Swift writes, performs and owns her compositions. This vertical integration allows her to charge exorbitant royalties and ticket prices.
Tickets for her “Eras” tour on average cost about $240. That’s merely the price for admission—not including food, drink or Swiftie swag. VIP passes that include memorabilia go for $899. How dare she make young women choose between paying for groceries or rent and going to a concert.
The Federal Trade Commission must cap Ms. Swift’s ticket prices at a reasonable price—say, $20—and ban her junk fees. Concertgoers shouldn’t have to pay $65 for an “I Love You It’s Ruining My Life” sweatshirt.
Lol. Seriously what the actual fuck. We don’t even need to get into Trump’s $99 NFTs or really anything engaging with the actual substance of the piece. The fact that even exists is a symptom of a deep malaise, and not like the oppositional defiance from attempts to hold Trump accountable for his crimes or focused outrage over him losing the 2020 election or triumphal spiritual reawakening from divine providence they pretended to undergo when he nearly was assassinated.
Taylor Swift's endorsement of Harris draws mixed reaction from voters: 'It is huge and it is unfortunate' https://t.co/47Z2REaDkR

They’re always more unhinged and darker than they were the last month. But for most of the last nine years it was the rest of America that bore the cost of their malevolence. The unfortunate souls of Springfield, Ohio aside, in this current stretch the MAGAverse seems far more inwardly self-destructive and sickened than before. It’s like watching a violent junkie who constantly steals from and disrupts those around them suddenly switch to krokodil, decaying alive as the gangrene sets in.
