A southwest Miami-Dade Florida man’s vehicle is in unknown condition Monday after an attempt to flee from his wife, with whom he is separated from, fired a round from a semi-automatic pistol at his feet while interrogating him angrily about suspected copulation with another woman, WPLG reports.
Cops say Mirza Morera, 54, arrived at her husband’s trailer residence on the edge of a farm near the 20000 block of 168th Street, calling him to open a gate near the home just before 10 am Sunday, accusing him of infidelity even though they’ve been living apart. Deciding that he wasn’t opening the gate fast enough, Morera fired a round into the ground, prompting the man to jump in his vehicle and attempt to drive off. The husband’s escape route was promptly blocked by a wooden utility pole.
A neighbor heard the gunshot and called police, who responded and found Morera still at the scene. She faces one count each of aggravated assault with a firearm, improper exhibition of a firearm or weapon and unlawful discharge of a firearm while inside a public place or residential property.
