US surpasses 10 million COVID cases, according to Worldometers

Data aggregator worldometers.info reports that the United States has exceeded 10,000,000 coronavirus cases on Friday, three days after Election Day when incumbent republican presidential candidate Donald Trump claimed there would be no more media coverage of the virus.

While the US has about 4% of the world’s population, it has about 25% of the world’s coronavirus cases. It’s also not just a result of testing: according to worldometers, the number of “serious” patients also surpassed 18,000.
