Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Mike Kelly has withdrawn his request for an emergency injunction from the US Supreme Court to stay the certification of Pennsylvania’s votes, ElectionLawBlog reports.
Kelly will instead pursue a remedy through the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and should that fail, he can then appeal to the US Supreme Court.
Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, supposedly an electoral law expert, urged the US Supreme Court to hear the case, saying in a statement, “Hearing this case now – on an emergency expedited basis – would be an important step in helping rebuild confidence in the integrity of our democratic system.”
Cruz went on to cite the results of a Reuters/Ipsos poll that found 39% of Americans think the election was “rigged,” because as a Constitutional scholar, he still doesn’t understand that public polls have very little impact on judicial outcomes.
