David Lander, the actor who played the iconic role of Squiggy in the television show “Laverne & Shirley,” died from complications of multiple sclerosis Friday evening in Los Angeles at the age of 73.
Lander landed the role of the sidekick to Michael McKeon’s “Lenny” on the spin-off of “Happy Days.” Prior to Kramer’s entrances to Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment, Squiggy was known for his characteristic “Hello!” when greeting the leading characters.
Lander had an extensive career, particularly doing voice acting in animated features as the MS made it more difficult for his to take live acting jobs.
