ICE agent Christian Castro – wanted in Minnesota on charges of assault and falsely reporting a crime in the January 14 shooting of 24 year-old Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, who Castro lied about attempting to attack him with a shovel – was released from a jail in Brownsville, Texas on Thursday after a federal judge ruled that the Lone Star State isn’t legally bound to any timeframe to make a decision on whether or not to extradite Castro up north to face the charges, the Associated Press reports.
Castro shot Sosa-Celis in the leg through the front door of a Minneapolis house during the siege of the city by convicted felon President Trump’s legions of white nationalist stormtroopers, deployed there after that incel kid claimed a Somali-operated daycare center was siphoning millions in taxpayer money because they wouldn’t let him in to film toddlers. Sosa-Celis was one of the luckier victims compared to Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both of whom were murdered in cold blood.
Pussy Governor Greg Abbott, evidently fearful that sending Castro to Minnesota could cost him support with just 10 weeks left before voters decide to keep him in office for a fourth term, has dragged his wheels and thrown up all sorts of circular bureaucratic roadblocks such as ordering a review to determine whether Castro is “legally a fugitive.” The ICE agent may actually be in Mexico already – Minnesota AG Keith Ellison had argued to a federal judge that he could flee south of the border if released from the clink in Texas. Which he was a few hours ago, from a jail just miles from the border. So maybe that’ll be the determination Abbott needs to sign the extradition order, that Castro fled to Mexico. Pretty standard operating procedure for a fugitive evading law enforcement.
Without getting into how Tim Walz or his-all-but-certain successor Amy Klobuchar should answer if/when they get an extradition request for some Antifa punk wanted for torching a Cybertruck in Houston, the more important question is what happened to the DOJ’s reported plan to step in and charge Castro federally? Why not just do it to take the heat off of Abbott, keep Castro out of a Minnesota prison (and give him the Ghislaine package in a federal joint), and say “See libs? We’ll sacrifice this particular lamb to muddy your narrative of complete unaccountability for our regime”?
Especially a Latino lamb, who won’t generate anywhere near the same amount of heat from MAGAmerica that federally charging Jonathan Ross or the guys who murdered Pretti would.
