A drunk driving suspect in Corning, California took a bite out of a police dog after the dog chased the suspect, who had crashed through a gate onto private property and ran to avoid arrest, the New York Daily News reports.
The police dog, Blaze, heroically hurdled two fences in pursuit of the suspect, Jorge Bucioperez, who had led police on a chase reaching 85 m.p.h. through a residential area late Friday night. When human officers caught up to the pair, Bucioperez was wrestling Blaze and gnawing on the dog’s leg.
Bucioperez continued to bark like a dog after he was restrained by the human officers and attempted to bite the humans, according to a press release from the police department. He was booked on suspicion of drunk driving and for possession of methamphetamine.
