82-year-old Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has been hospitalized since Friday in what a department statement says is a minor non-COVID illness, according to CNBC.
Ross had been working from his estate in Florida since late March when the coronavirus outbreak spread across the country, even as the Administration has insisted that there’s little risk from the virus.
Ross was hospitalized in upstate New York, according to Fox “News.” The Department did not announce why Ross was in upstate New York.
There is no word as to why the Commerce Department took more than 24 hours to announce the hospitalization of the oldest Cabinet secretary. This follows the delay of more than three weeks in the Supreme Court reporting that Chief Justice John Roberts was hospitalized following a fall in at his country club in June.
