Cleveland Grover Meredith from Georgia was arrested after sending threatening text messages about Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi after insurrectionists stormed the Capitol on Wednesday, WSB ABC-2 News reports.
Meredith was arrested at a hotel in Washington, DC after he sent a text to a friend saying he wanted to “[put] a bullet in [Pelosi’s] noggin on live TV.” When arrested, he told officers that he had guns in his car, where they found a Glock handgun and a semi-automatic assault rifle with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. He was not registered to carry firearms in DC.
In 2018, Meredith purchased a billboard advertisement in the Atlanta area promoting QAnon conspiracy theories. He recently texted a friend, “I predict that within 12 days, many in our country will die,” referring to the date of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.
