Tucker Carlson, Fox News host (and man who routinely loses online tic-tac-toe games), says that people who wear masks in public should be harassed and shamed because they make virus deniers feel bad. “It’s our job to brush them back and restore the country we were born in,” Carlson says, saying that his followers should confront mask wearers, who are really the oppressors.
Calling masks a sign of “political obedience,” Carlson also told his viewers to ask mask wearers “politely but firmly: will you take off your mask? … Your mask is making me uncomfortable.” Carlson says the harassment campaign should continue until mask wearing becomes as “socially acceptable as lighting up a Marlboro in an elevator.” (Funny how he doesn’t complain about that denial of “freedom.”)
Carlson goes one step further: people who see children wearing masks should call the police to report an abused child. Wearing a mask, Carlson claims, is the same as hitting a child.
