Donald Trump has again proven to be his own worst enemy.
Trump’s lawyers had filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit brought by E. Jean Carroll, who alleges Trump sexually assaulted her in a department store in the mid-1990s. The basis of the motion is that Trump is no longer a resident of New York because he moved his official residence to Florida.
Welp, Trump undermined that affirmative defense in his call to governors at the beginning of June, when he reportedly debased and insulted governors for not doing enough to stop the coronavirus and quell protestors raising concerns about police abuse.
During that call, Trump proudly declared that he is a “resident of Manhattan,” apparently forgetting that he supposedly lives in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Trump’s lawyers voluntarily withdrew his claim about living in Florida to avoid the obvious contradiction.
THANK YOU, TWITTER! @kaplanrobbie won ANOTHER round in my suit against Trump! Because you retweeted his call to the Governors when he bragged "I live in Manhattan," his lawyers dropped the claim I can't sue him cuz he's not a resident of New York! pic.twitter.com/GDFwmnWVdk

How this impacts Trump’s absentee voting status in Florida during the last midterms has yet to be determined.
