doocy \do͞o-see\: vt -cies; -cied: To make a fool of oneself repeatedly on the national stage through displays of cherrypicked information and limited research. Example: “He will really doocy the question about gun crime.”
The Fox News White House correspondent really doocied it up again, asking a well-prepared White House press secretary Jen Psaki about President Joe Biden’s focus on reducing gun crime, apparently thinking “gun crime” relates only to when people get shot.
The namesake for “to doocy” cited the increases in crimes such as robbery and rape in cities in the US in 2021, apparently not understanding that people are robbed and raped at gunpoint or when threatened with being shot in many cases. Quoting Biden, Peter Doocy stated, “The President feels a great deal of the crime we’re seeing is a result of gun violence, but the facts show it’s not just gun crimes,” before breaking down cherrypicked crime statistics where guns may have been used in the crime.
