Even after a vacation, Peter Doocy never learns. His first question to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki asked ridiculously if Joe Biden ever “left town to avoid a vote he knew he was going to lose,” completely missing the rules of the Texas legislature that made the move by Texas Democrats not just legal, but effective.
“Welcome back,” Psaki said dryly to the laughter of others in the room, suggesting that Doocy wasn’t really missed by his colleagues in the press room. Doocy then went on to rail against Democratic efforts to stop the passage of Texas voter suppression laws.
Doocy then learned that in communications, language matters. “Maybe it’s funny to think about it that way, but the President is talking about this like it’s the most serious assault since–”
“I don’t think anything about this is funny,” Psaki interrupted, before giving Doocy a summary of the number of states attempt to limit voter access to the polls.
