By an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 407-16, the House of Representatives passed legislation that would allow Afghan nations who worked with US military and contractors as interpreters or other positions that may make them targets to Taliban or nationalist extremists.
As the New York Times reports, the legislation would increase the number of special visas available from 11,000 to 19,000 as well as provide visas to people from a wider range of people who helped the US military.
The 16 Republicans who voted to dessert our Afghan allies were: Biggs (AZ), Boebert (CO), Brooks (AL), DesJarlais (TN), Duncan (SC), Good (VA), Gosar (AZ), Greene (GA), Hern (OK), Hice (GA), Massie (KY), Moore (AL), Perry (PA), Posey (FL), Rosendale (MT) and Roy (TX).
