A man was injured at the Jacksonville, Florida zoo after jumping over a barrier in front of the jaguar enclosure and sticking his arm through into the cage where, unsurprisingly, one of the big cats took a swipe at it, the Associated Press reports.
After he climbed over a waist-high barrier that created a four-foot gap between visitors and the animal enclosure, the unidentified man stuck his hand into the cage in an attempt to taunt the cat, when the jaguar, named Harry, swiped at the hand, injuring it with his claw.
A zoo spokeswoman said the zoo didn’t expect anything to happen to Harry because he was acting as part of his normal behavior for a wild animal. The zoo is not likely to pursue criminal charges against the man.
