A northeast Pennsylvania man has been charged with multiple felonies after he shot at a cigar store employee who insisted he wear a mask in the store, CNN reports.
Adam Zaborowski, 35 years old, became irate when he was asked by the employee to put a mask on while he was in the Bethlehem Township store, grabbed two cigars and walked out of the store without paying.
The employee followed Zaborowski into the parking lot, where Zaborowski drew a weapon and fired one shot in the air before aiming two shots at the employee. Both shots missed the employee and a customer who was seated behind the employee.
The following day, Pennsylvania State Police and Slatington Borough Police tried to arrest Zaborowski, who then engaged in a shootout with police before his arrest. Zaborowski, who is white, was taken to the hospital for undisclosed issues.
Zaborowski has been charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of robbery, reckless endangerment, and carrying a firearm without a license.
The attorney representing Zaborowski issued a statement on behalf of his client saying that he has a number of stressful things going on in his life that may have contributed to his actions.
