The US logged more than 54,000 new cases Tuesday, even as Florida and other states stopped state-sponsored coronavirus testing in preparation for Tropical Storm Isaias. Even still, Florida led the nation in the number of daily fatalities, with 245.
Texas led the nation in new cases, exceeding 10,000 new coronavirus patients reported. It was also second in the nation in fatalities with 205.
For the second straight day, Brazil exceeded the United States in the number of new cases reported.
