“If you’re not vaccinated, you shouldn’t travel over the long Labor Day weekend” is the advice from a White House COVID-19 briefing on Tuesday. The briefing outlined a number of steps that the Federal government has taken to try to mitigate suffering in the Gulf states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Those three states are currently suffering from dramatic surges in COVID-19 infection rates, and an epidemic of Ivermectin poisoning.
CDC personnel were reported to have already been on the ground at the time Hurricane Ida made landfall, and have been struggling to deal with individuals who suffered injuries while trying to escape flying debris and flooding, as well as dealing with those suffering from COVID-19 and poisoning. With CDC and FEMA resources already stretched by existing conditions, Federal Officials are urging Americans not to turn Labor Day into a massive super-spreader event that will result in an even greater strain on Federal government resources.
