President Trump, who has spent weeks whining about the insecurity of mail-in ballots, yesterday requested mail-in ballots for next Tuesday’s Florida primaries, Palm Beach County elections website records accessed by USA Today shows.
Because he requested the ballots after the deadline for them to be mailed to the voter, the ballots will have to be picked up at the Board of Elections headquarters. The completed ballot will have to be returned to the election board by 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Trump will not have to pick up the ballots themselves. Instead, Palm Beach County allows a person holding a simple written request from the voters to pick up the ballot, and the designated person must sign an affidavit after showing a photo ID. No authentication of the written request is required.
There are no major races in this Florida primary, although the Trumps could vote for Laura Loomer, a conservative best known for chaining herself to the doors of Twitter’s offices after being banned by the platform, who is running for Congress.
